Our Troop went on Family Camp last weekend at the Pawnee Bathhouse in northeastern Oklahoma. (Family Camp is a once a year camp where the entire troop can bring their whole family and we don’t work on badges –we just have fun!) Since Family Camp last year at the Pawnee Bathhouse was such a success we decided to go back there again this year. Our campsite was right down the road from the Pawnee Bill’s ranch house. Pawnee Bill had a traveling Wild West show and at some point he and Buffalo Bill worked together. We took a tour of the ranch house and the tour lady made sure we knew that Mr. Pawnee Bill was NOT buried in the basement.
Now I didn’t stay for the entire Family Camp weekend but Friday night the troop had a Cracker Barrel, which sounded like a lot of fun! Cracker Barrel is just a whole bunch of different desserts on a buffet for everyone, and it’s a whole lot of fun. Saturday we had a great time swimming at the Pawnee Bathhouse, which is on a 2 acre fresh water lake below the Pawnee Lake dam. The water park has a slide, sandy beach, high dive platform, and some other really fun things.
Everyone had a great campout playing, eating, camping, and swimming!
So, that is all for that campout. Just wait until you hear about next month’s summer camp!
See Pictures of the campout here...
