Troop 15 National Treasure Adventure:

Next summer the Scouts of Troop 15 are embarking on an incredible adventure in search of America's National Treasure and a visit to the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree. Beginning with a flight from OKC to Washington DC, our scouts will tour the national mall at night; from the U.S. Capital to the White House to the Lincoln Memorial. Our trip will include two days in Washington; visiting with Oklahoma elected officials, exploring the Smithsonian and the National Archives. From there it's a quick train trip to Philadelphia for a first hand look at the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Then on to the sacred grounds of Gettysburg for a special Civil War program geared specifically to scouts. After camping overnight at Gettysburg, it's on board a steam locomotive for a scenic trip to the Boy Scout National Jamboree in West Virginia. There we'll interact with thousands of scouts from across the country and take-in the BSA's newest high adventure camp at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. From there,Troop 15 will hike a portion of the Appalachian trail en-route to colonial Williamsburg, where our scouts will experience life during the Revolutionary War period...and make a trip to Bush Gardens theme park before departing for OKC.

Ultimately, our scouts will uncover a national treasure more valuable than gold...helping them better understand their calling in this great adventure of America. Make plans to join Troop 15 on this once in a lifetime experience.

The Summit is More Than A Place...

Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit is an adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America. And anyone who loves the outdoors. And home to the National Scout Jamboree. And the 4th BSA High Adventure Base, with the other three being the Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier and Florida Sea Base.

It's the beginning of the next century of Scouting. With incredible facilities and intense outdoor programs, The Summit is a place that takes kids to the limits of what they think they can do, and then goes further.
The Summit is more than just a place for Scouts; it's Scouting's next step.
